Travis Laycock, Manager of Sport Science Services for the SMSCS has been hired as the next Executive Director of the SMSCS effective immediately upon the retirement of Mark Henry later in 2024. Travis has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and a Master’s Degree in Business. He brings a wealth of experience through his 26 years starting with the Saskatchewan Sport Science Program and then onto the Sport Medicine and Science Council when the two amalgamated. A former high-performance athlete, he has given back to sport by coaching his kids and many other youth in numerous different sports over the past 25 years. His background, knowledge and understanding of the Sask Sport system will be a huge asset as he guides the Council for the years to come. Congratulations and good luck Travis!
